The district of Khanewal was created in 1985 out of the two tehsils of MultanDistrict, namely Kabirwala and Mian Channu. Its boundaries meet thedistricts of Jhang and Toba Tek Singh on the North, Sahiwalon the East, Vehari District on South and with Multanon the West.
Main casts are Rajput Ganpal, arain, qureshi , shaikh, syed, hiraj, siyal,Merali,Daha, Khan, Niazi, pahod, sargana ,Kamboh Rajput,etc.
